The Task Jacket in Waxed Navy was created in collaboration with Ron Finley as part of our Diggin In Capsule and though it’s designed for heavy-duty guerilla gardening, it’s a vital companion for all sorts of hard labor. We’ve built quite a few workwear-focused pieces over the years, but this one may just be our toughest garment yet. It’s loaded with a slew of handy pockets, including a large expandable pocket across the lower back similar to a “game pocket” on traditional hunting jackets, (though Ron would likely stuff them with radishes over rabbits). An articulated action back allows for total upper-body mobility, so you won’t have to strain when it’s time to pull up the harvest. This Waxed Navy iteration is a classic look that’s as versatile as it is resilient, and it’s built from 100% organic cotton because Ron wouldn’t have it any other way, and neither would we.
This burly 9-oz material is woven from 100% organic cotton that offers up all of the same benefits as the conventional stuff without the hefty environmental impact. It’s been treated with a plant-based dry wax by the masters at Halley Stevensons—a first for them in their 150+ years and we’re proud to be the first to make it available in the US— for a naturally water-resistant result that’s in keeping with the Responsible initiative of both us and Mr. Finley. The Task Jacket is made to be put through the wringer and come back looking better than before, so go ahead, pick up a shovel and Dig In.
