Men's Waxed Jackets
Our men’s waxed jackets are cut in true to form, heritage inspired silhouettes and built for durability, Responsibility, and style. From waxed canvas jackets to bombers, these styles are meant to serve you year-round, be it in the big city or the backwoods.
In addition to using ethically sourced 100% organic cotton, we continue to innovate with new, more sustainable forms of wax, both in partnership with the masters at Halley Stevensons, and in our own workshops with proprietary TS original waxes. It’s one more way we keep our promise to Protect Wild, Forever. Look good, and feel even better knowing that your threads are helping create a healthier planet.
What is a waxed jacket?
Dry and wet waxing is a weatherproofing process in which natural waxes are woven into the fabric. It’s a traditional method that’s been around for centuries, and in addition to looking great and developing a ton of character over time, waxed jackets are a far sight better for the environment than modern synthetic or chemical methods. Plus, if you ask us, they just look amazing. To learn more about the history of waxed canvas jackets, head to our Journal.
Are waxed jackets comfortable?
Absolutely. The 100% organic cotton construction of our waxed outerwear means it hangs on the body in a much more natural way than a synthetic fiber would. Though, like high quality denim, there can be a bit of stiffness in the beginning, the wear in process pays dividends down the line as your jacket forms to your body, developing a character-rich patina as unique to you as the lines on your hand. How do you care for a waxed cotton jacket?
If there is one thing to know about waxed fabric, it’s this: leave it out of the washer and dryer. Washing or drying your waxed jacket can permanently strip the garment of its wax and ruin it. Instead, take some cool water and a sponge and give your jacket a scrub down. Be sure to clean the seams and areas that might have trapped grime in them. If you come across any stubborn spots, break out a brush and carefully remove any debris. Lay your garment on a flat surface in a well ventilated room or outside.
