People often call Taylor Stitch a menswear brand, but as far as we’re concerned, our gear is for everybody. If you’re not convinced, allow us to introduce you to Monica Valli, a professional guitar player with a penchant for blistering blues licks and a discerning eye for style. After polishing up her chops at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she moved to Nashville and has been wowing audiences all over the globe ever since, sharing stages with industry legends—and becoming one herself in the process. We’re huge fans of her work, and as it turns out, the feeling is mutual. As you can see from the photos, she’s especially fond of our recent collaboration with Stetson (we don’t blame her).

As you’ve probably heard, COVID-19 has had a major impact on the livelihoods of professional musicians, but Monica—never one to be daunted by shifting circumstances—has taken on a new venture to stay busy. Valli Beard Oils is a range of organic, hand-crafted oils inspired by the bearded audiences at the biker bars where she cut her teeth as a young performer. If, like many of us, you’ve been experimenting with facial hair over the course of COVID, this one’s for you.

We always ask our musician buddies for recommendations, and Monica went above and beyond with a full-fledged playlist to keep us grooving through the remainder of 2020. It’s packed with stone cold classics (and some deep cuts for good measure), so check out Six String Sensations on Spotify if you need some fresh tunes in your life. Follow Monica’s exploits on Instagram (@monicavalli and Valli Beard Oil@vallibeardoil), and keep an eye out as we unveil more Stetson gear over the coming weeks!

Common Thread: A History of Indigo

For centuries, indigo has carried the marks, fades, and wear of honest work. Whether stamped into the folds of a French bleu de travail chore jacket, the weather-softened cotton of Japan’s Edo-period laborers, or the durable denim and chambray of American tradesmen, the story remains consistent: blue is the color of toil.

The History of Flannel Shirts

Few garments have stood the test of time quite like the flannel shirt. Tough, timeless, and endlessly adaptable, flannel has evolved from humble origins into a cold-weather staple across cultures and generations. Today, it’s as likely to be found layered over a tee on city streets as it is worn on the jobsite or trail. But where did it come from, and why has it endured?
