The Isla Chambray Pant is Back

Our woman wearing that pants outside a brutalist building.

A trouser that’s as easy to wear as it is stylish is no small task. When we asked ourselves what we wanted in the perfect pant, we knew it had to have pockets, an easy pull-on waist, a tailored fit, and the perfect ankle-skimming length. We envisioned it in a medium weight cotton chambray — strong enough to hold its shape but light enough to run around in. A curved hem provided the perfect finishing detail, resulting in a sporty trouser that couldn’t be easier to wear. It looks just as good on the weekend dressed down with sneakers as it does at the office paired with your favorite loafers — it doesn’t get much more versatile than that.

First released last year, we aren’t the only ones who can’t seem to live without our trusty Isla, so we’re re-releasing just in time for spring. Head to The Workshop to get in on the action.

Common Thread: A History of Indigo

For centuries, indigo has carried the marks, fades, and wear of honest work. Whether stamped into the folds of a French bleu de travail chore jacket, the weather-softened cotton of Japan’s Edo-period laborers, or the durable denim and chambray of American tradesmen, the story remains consistent: blue is the color of toil.

The History of Flannel Shirts

Few garments have stood the test of time quite like the flannel shirt. Tough, timeless, and endlessly adaptable, flannel has evolved from humble origins into a cold-weather staple across cultures and generations. Today, it’s as likely to be found layered over a tee on city streets as it is worn on the jobsite or trail. But where did it come from, and why has it endured?
