We offer most of our bottoms, like our denim jeans and chinos, in two refined fits—Slim and Democratic, with a new Straight Fit joining the lineup in select styles. After countless hours of testing and tailoring, we think we’ve landed on a lineup of silhouettes that cover the spectrum of personal style, body type, and day-to-day functionality. Here’s how they compare.

Democratic Fit

The Democratic Fit offers ease through the seat and thigh with a gentle taper from the knee to the leg opening. It’s a great middle ground—roomeir than our Slim Fit, but with a more refined leg shape than our Straight Fit. If you’ve got an athletic build, spend time in the saddle, or just want a little more mobility without going full vintage, this one’s for you.

Slim Fit

More tapered from top to bottom, the Slim Fit is our trimmest cut. Designed with a medium rise and a narrower shape through the thigh, knee, and leg opening, it’s a modern, versatile fit that works just as well at the office as it does on the weekend.

Straight Fit

Inspired by vintage denim cuts, the Straight Fit is both the newest silhouette in our selvedge lineup and our roomiest fit, offering the same ease through the seat and thigh as our Democratic Fit, but with a more open leg from knee to cuff and minimal taper. It’s an ideal choice if you’re after a laid-back, heritage-inspired profile with a bit of extra room to move.

Shared Features

All three fits share the same classic medium rise and are available in standard waist sizes with 32” and 34” inseam options. The waistband is shaped to sit comfortably against your back—no gapping or pulling—and the fit is dialed in to move with you, not against you.

Common Thread: A History of Indigo

For centuries, indigo has carried the marks, fades, and wear of honest work. Whether stamped into the folds of a French bleu de travail chore jacket, the weather-softened cotton of Japan’s Edo-period laborers, or the durable denim and chambray of American tradesmen, the story remains consistent: blue is the color of toil.

The History of Flannel Shirts

Few garments have stood the test of time quite like the flannel shirt. Tough, timeless, and endlessly adaptable, flannel has evolved from humble origins into a cold-weather staple across cultures and generations. Today, it’s as likely to be found layered over a tee on city streets as it is worn on the jobsite or trail. But where did it come from, and why has it endured?
