Description

The Crew Jacket is a mashup of a vintage Japanese work jacket and a contemporary coach jacket, resulting in an effortless spring/summer layer with rich visual interest. Utilizing a texture-heavy sashiko kendo finish and a host of elevated details—like embroidered arrow pocket reinforcement and welted dark horn-colored buttons—The Crew Jacket offers everyday versatility that will develop incredible nuance with every outing.

Material

Originating amongst Japanese soldiers for the practice of Kendo, sashiko kendo fabric boasts impressive durability and a heavily textured finish. For The Crew Jacket, we’ve gone with a deep indigo dye before giving it a light wash to bring out the natural character of the sashiko. We finished off the package with a chambray lining to keep that sweet indigo from staining your shirt.

Textured Sashiko

Originating in Japan over 400 years ago, Sashiko stitching was used to bolster or repair homespun clothes, and over the years it has evolved into an artform all its own. In addition to its impressive durability, we employ sashiko for its beautiful, high-texture finish that develops incredible character as it wears in over time. Wear these sashiko garments and watch them age with grace.
