2017 - Mens - The Outdoors Collection
In Sierra National Forest
The Sierras (technically, the Sierra Nevada Mountains) are monumental. At over 400 miles long and 70 miles wide, they are home to the nation’s largest alpine lake (Keep Tahoe Blue), the Lower 48's tallest peak, and count them: three national parks, two national monuments, and twenty national wilderness areas. A veritable smorgasbord of recreation, we're continuously reminded how lucky we are that this is our backyard sandlot.
Once you leave the California coast and head east, there is a geographic lull as you cruise through a series of central valley cities and towns that faithfully give credence to our agricultural prowess. Beyond the almond trees and stone fruit orchards, the roads start to become tortured and, with increasing bends and switchbacks, submit to the four million years of tectonic uplift that has forced an average of 10,000 vertical feet of granite to scratch the clouds.
It was amongst these granite giants, at the end of a road where concrete faded to forest floor, that we framed our Outdoors Collection. On a borrowed patch of lakeside real estate we set up our home of tents and hammocks. We spent our days fishing, hiking, and napping in the outstretched arms of ancient trees, while nightfall was accompanied by the fire’s incandescence and beneath a sky littered with stars. These are the moments that have inspired our latest collection.
Launching throughout the month: a couple of Crater Shirts in custom vintage-inspired plaids, our collection-hopping Camp Pant, the solidly year-round Rover Jacket, and back this year for its sixth appearance, the Yosemite Shirt — each year better than the last. All funding this month and delivered in time for your fall visit to the great outdoors.
