The Sierra Parka in Midnight
We like to do things a bit differently here at Taylor Stitch. "Like what?" you might ask. Well for starters, like launching a sensationally warm winter Parka smack in the middle of summer. Introducing the Sierra Parka—built to keep you warm in the coldest and harshest of conditions.
Why a winter jacket in the middle of summer? Well, It's part of our promise to challenge the way the traditional apparel industry operates. When we created the Workshop, we were looking for ways to limit inventory excess that might eventually end up in a landfill—our worst nightmare and a more common occurrence than should be acceptable in any industry. By offering products before we produce them (i.e., crowd fund), we can ensure we're only sewing exactly what's required and nothing more. Our planet takes on less waste, and we deliver products right when you need them—for this jacket that means November. A big plus: you save 20% for helping us build a better company. Everybody wins.
Since it is in fact August, and we strive to test everything we offer in real life conditions before they hit the site—not to mention, the closest snow is up on Mount Hood in Oregon, where it’s actually 80 degrees—we reached out to our friend Omar who works down the street at Double Rainbow Ice Cream and asked how cold their freezers are maintained. His answer: a blustering -11 degrees Fahrenheit. While the photo team came back with stories of hypothermia, Omar told us that he’s never been warmer on the job.

What makes our Parka so warm? The secret is in the filling. Our custom high-loft insulation not only holds the highest insulation rating in its class, but is made from recycled polyester. Less waste, more warmth, all in one go.
Built for the long haul. The water-repellent nylon exterior will hold up to years of wear before showing any signs of use, while the brushed cotton makes throwing on the jacket feel like wrapping up in your favorite blanket just as the snow hits outside. Cap it all off with waterproof YKK zippers, custom snaps, and cord stoppers, and you have the last winter Parka you’ll ever need to purchase.
