Paper to Product: Edition 229

We like to make sturdier than average clothing, especially in the fall and winter months. If you've ever purchased any of our heavier pieces, you know that although the fabrics are substantial, they are remarkably soft. That is the magic of it all: sturdy and soft living together in one timeless, well tailored piece.

The Work Oxford is a great example of this sartorial marriage. This 8 ounce fabric is roughly 40% heavier than our already substantial oxford. It's a great weight to wear on a day-to-day basis, especially if your workspace doesn't have a thermostat (a struggle we know well given that zero of the three spaces we've worked out of has had any sort of temperature controlling device). It also works great as an extra layer over a henley or tee shirt in the colder months.

Unlike most other shirts out there, this fabric isn't stiff at all; it actually feels supple and lived in. The indvidual yarns used to weave this fabric are much thicker than standard shirting yarns, but due to exceptional sourcing by our partner mill in Portugal these thicker yarns start out softer and more pliable than most. Out of the loom this fabric is exceptional. After it is sewn-up we then give the piece a light wash so it really feels ready to go from the moment you put it on.

The end result is a unique piece (nobody else is making an oxford this heavy) that will gets loads of use and wear in nicely. This piece will reappear in the spring in a lighter color palette, so each of these shirts is limited in number. If history proves to be an accurate indicator, know that these might not be around by the time your holiday cash finally hits the bank.
