Paper to Product: Edition 205

The sun goes up and the sun goes down - there is only so much time in the day.

Whether you're at work or on an adventure, it feels good to squeeze every last drop out of the daylight hours. When done right, the sleep is sounder and that evening cocktail is all the more enjoyable.

Our inspiration for and collaborator on this collection was Sean Woolsey, a fine artist, woodworker, surfer, former clothing designer and friend living down the coast in Costa Mesa. He's a man who loves his craft and also loves life outside of the workshop. He attacks all of his projects with focus and determination, but when the swell is good he always finds a way to fit a surf in.

Both the shirt and swim trunk are utilitarian pieces. They're designed for a hot, hard day's work near the water’s edge. The trunks are crafted from a hard-wearing Supplex nylon and cut in a tailored fit. The shirt is, well, kinda life-changing. The fabric feels like a sweatshirt but has the durability and structure of our most rugged shirts. The Japanese have done it again with this fabric. It's the first thing you'll put on when you're waking up, the first thing you’ll reach for after you dry the salt water off of you and the one thing you'll never forget to grab before hitting the light switch on your way out of the workshop. Hell, you may just never take it off.

Oh yeah, there's one last little thing that Sean built up for us to get you around town. You'll find out more about that tomorrow...
