Label Launch: BONMOT by Becky Rauth

If there’s one thing we can get behind, it’s an entrepreneurial spirit. If there’s a second thing we can get behind, it’s a love for well-made wardrobe staples. On both counts, our pal Becky Rauth, the talented force behind the new women’s label BONMOT, is a true kindred spirit. So we invite you to join us on November 20th from 6-8 PM at our 2030 Chestnut Street shop.

After ten years in the fashion business, Becky recently left her corporate job and did the terrifyingly exciting - set out on her own. Somewhere along the line she had realized that, like many of us, she was guilty of splurging on statement pieces - a fringed maxi skirt, leather leggings, etc - that were fun to buy but impossible to wear without the right pieces to anchor them.

So Becky set out to make the “right” tops - an assortment of classic but never boring silk blouses, tees, and tanks. We're so glad she did, because they’re the kind of tops you can wear day in and day out in a million different ways -- the kind of tops that can get a girl out of some jams.

Clearly, Becky's no average girl, and BONMOT is not your average label - she sources only the finest silk, creates her exclusive prints in-house, sews everything here in San Francisco, and offers it at an unbelievable value.

As for the name BONMOT? As Becky puts it, "Bon mot translates to ‘good word’ in French but is commonly used as ‘good one,’ as in a clever remark or witticism. I love that. The BONMOT girl is sophisticated but fun, elegant but sometimes irreverent. She’s fashionable, savvy, and has brains to boot.”

Hear, hear.

Becky is a true maker after our own hearts, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch some of her BONMOT favorites in the shop. We’ll be celebrating Becky and her line next Thursday night, November 20th, at the Chestnut store with wine, champagne, nibbles, and first dibs on her beautiful blouses. We hope to see you there.
