Style Icon: Lauren Bacall

It seems only fitting in releasing our new Samantha mid-length pencil skirt that we should pay homage to a great woman of style who recently passed. Lauren Bacall, best known as the sultry screen siren with a striking horizontal gaze, has caught our eye as a woman who wore the pencil skirt better than the rest. Whether slinking across the silver screen with Bogie or indulging in a paparazzi-filled night out on the town in NYC, she always wore this sophisticated staple with equal parts grace and ease, putting her at the top of our list of who wore it best.

Back in the 50's, she described her personal style as "studied carelessness.“ This timeless motto exemplifies what we ladies at TS aim to achieve current day: clothing that's effortless, classic and comfortable. To that end, we gave our new skirt plenty of stretch and just enough structure; we like to think our slightly more laid-back take echoes the sophisticated, yesteryear style of Ms. Bacall in a way that's infinitely wearable today. As for the saturated citrus hues? That's a pure California infusion, making this skirt the peppy staple you'll want to reach for again and again as Indian summer drags on.

In Ms. Bacall’s words, “you shouldn’t have to do much to clothes - just wear them.” We carry this adage with us and respectfully pay homage to a timeless american beauty whose stylistic distinction will not be soon forgotten.
