Caught The Lady's Eye

As we continue to grow our women's line, the ladies over here at the TS headquarters thought it'd be nice to give you a monthly glimpse into our inspirations and musings.  We'll let you know where we're spending a little of our free time and those we think worthy of yours.

1. This Is Paper- A fantastic looking new magazine to have with your coffee in the mornings.  Plus its website with just enough of a summary of it's articles to satisfy your immediate cravings but leave you hungry for the real thing- which led us to an amazing series of videos about the highly process oriented work of UK based design duo, Glithero and a brilliant quote from the incredibly good designer, Faye Toogood (pun intended): "I'm not frightened of commerce" - glad to hear it.

2. The Disposable Film Festival at the Castro- MovieMaker Magazine calls it one of the world's "coolest film festivals" and it's coming this month to the Castro, which is no doubt one of the world's coolest movie theaters.  Running March 20th-23rd, it will feature the best short films to come off of all those pocket size devices we keep creating.

3. Just Kids- Wow, so we here in California must be pretty cool. According to stats from a new online e-book subscription hub, Scribd (like Netflix for the literary), Patti Smith's book "Just Kids," in which she documents her relationship with artist Robert Mapplethorpe, is the golden bear state's preferred read.  Pretty good considering already-cold-Alaska's favorite is "Ben and Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream and Dessert Book."

4. And...since we're currently finding ourselves in one of those odd months somewhere between winter and spring, why not sip on it's cocktail equivalent: the Cardamom Moscow Mule.  Infusing this Hollywood classic with one of India's favorite spices is perfect- let us just count the benefits of cardamom: digestion, halitosis, antioxidants, AND detoxification.  Say no more.
