Style Icon: Lauren Hutton

Good Style isnt complicated. Mix one part of each: confidence, comfort, and an understanding of what looks good on you.  Throw in some classic wardrobe staples and you're well on your way.  Need a visual demo? There's none better than the amazing Ms. Lauren Hutton.

No one pulls off simplicity like LH.  In fact, we might as well have dedicated the Taylor Stitch women's line to her because no one does wardrobe staples like she does: the button down, the tee shirt, the trench coat. Then there's the hat, the classic white sneakers, and a carefree demeanor that exudes cool and comfort in her own skin. The last one is key: know who you are and embrace your imperfections. But more than just a pretty face, she had her priorities straight- she insisted on modeling only half of the year so that she could travel during the rest. She looked at modeling as a means to satisfy her insatiable appetite to see the world. She fiercly campaigned for a variety of causes: breast cancer, wildlife, Alzheimer's, women in politics and she got to ride on the back of a motorcycle with Robert Redford. Hell, she agreed to pose naked at the age of 61.

Out of all of my years living in New York City, I only crossed paths with her a few times, but she was the only person who could make me turn around, stop in my tracks, and just watch her.

So here's to you LH, our first Taylor Stich ladies style icon.
