Edition 134: Sea Washed Denim Project Jacket

When designing our upcoming collections, ideas first face the question: is it both rugged and refined?

All products will naturally favor one side of the spectrum, but if the concept cannot dwell both in the city as well as the great outdoors it has failed this quite simple test.

We have always longed to design a denim jacket. Our approach was to look at it as the perfect layering piece. Something more versatile and dapper than your standard trucker, but still constructed to be as durable as classic workwear.

The denim would have to stand on its own merits; it would have to be unique and rinsed for softness but heavy enough to hold its own as a work coat.

A bit of sampling and a heavy dose of Japanese inspiration yielded a product that fits our criteria. Working with our new project jacket template and possibly our best dead-stock denim find to date, we have created a very unique and much more refined denim jacket.

The textured 10.5 oz Kurabo Mills denim jacket was given our signature sea wash to give it the perfect wearability off the bat. So, to all of you who thought you’d never buy a denim jacket, we ask you not to eat your words, but instead to enjoy all the new possibilities available when layering up with the perfect denim coat.
